A place where I ramble, let you know things you don't need to know, and hopefully infotain you along the way.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor

After an amazing 5 nights, I’m going through a little Folk Fest withdrawal. This was one of the best fests to date. Kicked off with Van the Man and went hard till John Prine on Sunday night. There were a lot of great moments.
You’d expect a few more grumpy moments when you’re only getting 4 hours of sleep a night and spending the rest of the day in blistering hot sun, but there’s some kind of magical euphoria that sweeps over Gallagher Park every August, and it’s a feeling that can’t be beat.
It’s hard to chose a favourite workshop from the weekend, but this one was awesome. Steve Dawson, Dave McCann, Brian McLeod and Joe Pug ended up jamming on a didgeridoo song lead by Brian McLeod and it made for some serious Folk Fest magic. That’s what it’s all about.
She charmed the pants off everyone at Folk Fest Saturday night, and her songs get better and better with repeat listens. Pay attention to this woman.
It’s that time of summer! The Edmonton Folk Music Festival starts a little earlier for me this year with a Van Morrison concert down on Gallagher Hill. Then it’s in full gear for the best 4 days of summer.

Main draws (at the mainstage at least) this year are Ben Harper, Gord Downie, Levon Helm, Sarah Harmer, Colin Hay, Jakob Dylan and John Prine.
But the best part about this beautiful music festival is the discovery of new artists. If it wasn’t for Folk Fest, I would have never heard some of my favourite artists:
Heck if it wasn’t for Folk Fest, I wouldn’t know that Chumbawamba is actually an acapella group.
It’s gonna be good time, I hope to see you there.
